NICE - Network for Intercultural Competence to facilitate Entrepreneurship

The goal of the NICE project is to give the students the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial abilities in a stimulating environment. This involves:

  • getting in contact with colleagues from different countries (and different cultures) and learning to work together in a team
  • coming up with innovative solutions for one of the global challenges that the world is facing today
The project is open to students from all study levels and specializations, who are interested in improving their skills.

Activities and application

The students are invited to apply for a 7-week distance learning course, hosted by the University of Edinburgh, starting in March 2019. The course will cover both entrepreneurship and intercultural aspects; in parallel, the students will work in teams for solving a Global Challenge - see the list of Global Challenges and details about each challenge. During the application process, each student will indicate his/her favourite challenges from the list, and the participants will subsequently be grouped according to these options.

Application for the course is now open and will remain so until January 21, 2019!

After completing the course, the students who worked best will have the opportunity to participate in a week-long summer school in July 2019.

Your outcomes

If you choose to apply for the NICE project:

  • You will live a fascinating experience, working together with students from the other partner institutions and improving your entrepreneurial skills.
  • The students coming with the best projects can participate in the July summer school.
  • The results achieved for the course itself can be recognized by your faculty, in a manner that is similar to stages carried out within the well-known Erasmus+ programme, including credit recognition.

Eligibility and selection

In order to be eligible for participating in the project, in our University, a level of English proficiency of at least B1 is required. This level can be proved either by language certificates or by a test that will be organized within the University.

The number of participants from each partner University is limited to 40, so, if more applications are made, a selection process will be carried out.
