The book Algebraic Foundations of Computer Science (600 pages), by professor Ferucio Laurenţiu Ţiplea, was published at the Polirom Publishing House. The book is conceived as a course material for first year students in computer science. It presents the basic knowledge necessary for understanding important computer science fields, along with actual applications in: code theory and data compression; error detecting and correcting code theory; cryptography and information security; programming languages semantics; program analysis; data type theory.
