Periodical Events

The Faculty of Computer Science organizes periodical scientific events such as:

  • the EUROLAN summer school, every 2 years since 1993; Eurolan is an established event in the domain of human language technologies. Each edition, internationally known scholars and researchers involved in leading-edge work in relevant areas served as professors at the school, providing half- and full-day seminars and hands-on labs to provide students with in-depth understanding and experience. The current edition, Eurolan 2011, will take place in Cluj-Napoca on August 28 - 4 September, 2011. Previous editions of Eurolan:

  • ECODAM (Doctoral Summer School on Meta-heuristics in optimization and intelligent data analysis and Evolutionary Computing in Optimisation and Data Mining), yearly since 2006. Details regarding previous editions:
  • the Scientific Seminars of the faculty
  • the Research Report Conference of the Faculty, part of the Days of the University, in October of each year;
  • ROSYCS (Romanian Symposium on Computer Science), every 2 years, since 1977; in the even years, since 1996; the topics of the previous editions ranged from Formal Languages, Parallel and Distributed Computing, Complexity, Computational Statistics, Functional Programming, Algebraic Specification to Natural Language Processing, Evolutionary Computing, Databases, Applications of Graph Theory in Computer Science, Parallel Computing, and Web Technologies.
  • the workshop on Web Technologies, since 2001.
  • the workshop on Human Language Technologies, since 2005.
